Brewed Awakening

“Brewed Awakening” Sunday summer brunch series returns at Billsburg Brewery showcasing musicians from across Hampton Roads. Running from 12pm-3pm, join us for special community pricing of incredible craft beer, food trucks, and local music that will satisfy all of your “Sunday Fun-day” needs!

 

Each food truck will have brunch items on the menu in addition to their regular menu and Billsburg will be pouring all your favorite beers including Sunday BEERMosas!

Help us support Here for the Girls! in this summertime benefit featuring local musicians Billy Joe Daniel and In Layman Terms. Food from local chef FoodaTude..Food with Attitude. Join in the fun as a portion of the proceeds from BIllsburg Beer Sales and FoodaTude Food Sales will go to help Here for the Girls!

 

How to get here?
By Water - Our friends from Paddle On of Williamsburg water paddle across the marina and join us decorated in bras and tutus and help us raise money for charity by purchasing a vote for your favorite decorated bra. Contact Lori Corrigan Erwin of Paddle On of Williamsburg if you wish to join us by water.

By Wheels - Several motorcycle clubs will be rolling into Billsburg at 5pm to help kick this evening off in style. They too will be asked to decorate a bra that covers the front of their bikes. Watch them fill the parking lot at 5pm as Billy Joe Daniel starts the live music.

By Walk - Show up just as you are, and if you are brave enough, come in your own decorated bra and show your support.

 

Think you have the skills to create the best bra in Williamsburg? Come wearing your own beautifully designed and created Bra and collect some votes and help us raise money. We will be giving away a special prize for each of the three ways to get to Billsburg in a Bra.

 

Don't think you can design a great bra? That's ok, simply show your support by purchasing votes to giving them to the best bras of the night!

 

This event is all in good fun and intended to raise as much money as possible for one of our favorite local charities Here for the Girls!

 

Here for the Girls is a not for profit organization with the mission to improve the lives of young women affected by breast cancer. We offer in-person support Beyond Boobs, and virtual support, Pink Link, to empower and inspire women through their diagnosis rather than be diminished by the disease. Sunday, August 4, 8am to 11am - 2019 Virginia Duathlon

Join us for the 17th running of the Virginia Duathlon. Since 2002, Virginia Duathlon has been the premier duathlon of the South Atlantic with a 5K run, 24 mile bike and 5K run . This year Virginia Duathlon will move to Williamsburg where there will be a scenic 5K run along the Virginia Capital Trail and a great 24 mile out and back bike along the north bank of the James River.

Thursday, August 10, 2pm to 4pm - Virginia Tech Young Alumni Cornhole Social

Calling all Hokies! Join us for a fundraiser to benefit our good friends at Williamsburg Area Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association as we play cornhole and other great yard games in the field at Billsburg Brewery. Come out and celebrate being a hokie and help us support our #local chapter of VT Alumni!

Sat, August 17, 12pm to 10pm - 1619Fest - A reggae concert featuring Akae Beka, Mighty Joshua, and Cultivated Minds

1619Fest is the 400th Anniversary Commemoration of a Consequential Event in American History, the Arrival of Africans.

 

Join us for the entire day as we recognize this historic time. Events highlighting Jamestown Island that include a visit to the "Angela Site" where archaeologists will share information about details and artifacts that they are discovering on the site where one of the first Africans came to live.

 

Music begins at 5pm, your ticket gets you access to a live reggae concert, headlined by international reggae artist Akea Beka. Plus opening performances by Mighty Joshua and Cultivated Mind.

 

Advance tickets are only $30 ($40 at the door) for access to all activities and performances occurring at Billsburg Brewery / James City County Marina.

Sunday, August 18, 3pm to 8pm - Food and Beer pairings from the Virginia Chefs Association and Billsburg Brewing Company

Come join Virginias finest chefs August 18th from 3-8pm as they spend the afternoon cooking many of their favorite dishes.
Chefs from the Virginia Chefs Association (VCA) will be cooking great summer foods and share their tips for your afternoon picnics and BBQ’s.

 

Representing the VCA are;
- Custom Culinary Creations
- Chefs and students of the Culinary Institute of Virginia
- The Nutall Store
- The Apprentices of the Williamsburg Inn
- Waypoint Seafood and Grill
- Williamsburg latest taste sensation “Hunger” husband and wife team Chef Andres Sandoval and is wife Katie bring a unique line of incredible sauces for the grill.

Friday, September 13, 6pm - Comedy Night for Charity

Come join us for a night of laughs with local talent Tom Holaday. "Coach" Tom has been working comedy clubs since 1992, inspiring laughter through relate-able, real life stories from his life as a teacher, coach, and father. All proceeds from the event will go to support the work of the American Liver Foundation. The foundation's mission is to promote education, advocacy, support services and research for the prevention, treatment, and cure of liver disease. Today, over 30 million Americans suffer from liver disease, or 1 in 10, and it is one of the top causes of death in the U.S. Every dollar raised will make a difference in the lives of these neighbors, friends, and family living with liver disease. Plus, they say that good, hearty laughter increases liver function. So let's raise a glass and have some laughs for your liver!
